I have been to this restaurant in Hamilton some years ago and upon finding there was one in Rotorua it was a must visit dinner stop during our trip. Having lived in China and knowing the tastes I was surprised at some low review scores which was surprising as the food is excellent and are authentic mainland Chinese dishes from Sichuan. If you are expecting Cantonese style Chinese dishes catering to western tastes you may be disappointed. But if you are looking for authentic food from China you will love it. I will come back again and again given the chance

I dont know what cause the tingling sensation on our tongue after eating and it just getting stronger till I need to stop eating. We ordered crispy pork, fried rice and wonton soup. Just dont like that sense. Food is bare minimum and not carefully prepared to maintain tue authenticity. Service (staff are friendly) and atmosphere are good (clean) anyway.

Came in for a dinner in the middle of winter. To be honest the food was not good. Not very fresh with lots of starch. The only taste was spicy. Service was good, toilet was clean. The rest we visited in Hamilton was way better. We won’t be back at all. I’m sorry but it was not worth the trip.
